MMOexp Diablo 4: Warlock Looks for a New Identity After Major Nerfs
Summary
With the Season 14 PTR for Diablo IV now wrapped up, players have had enough time to stress-test builds, break down class balance, and push endgame content to Diablo 4 Gold its limits.
While Blizzard still has room to adjust numbers before launch, the current picture is already forming a clear meta hierarchy. Some classes are thriving with multiple viable endgame builds, while others are still leaning heavily on familiar Season 13 strategies.
One thing is already obvious: the gap between the strongest and weakest classes is wider than many expected.
Paladin Struggles to Keep Up in High-End Content
Early PTR results place Paladin near the lower end of the Season 14 power spectrum.
While the class remains functional across general gameplay, it struggles noticeably in high-tier Pit and Tower pushes compared to top performers.
The most stable option is still Blessed Hammer, offering consistent AoE damage and smooth pacing across most content types. However, it no longer stands out as a top-tier pushing build.
Other archetypes like Clash and Shield Throw have lost momentum, and even Zeal-focused improvements introduced during PTR testing failed to elevate the class into competitive territory.
Unless significant tuning changes arrive before launch, Paladin may enter Season 14 as one of the weaker options for endgame progression.
Warlock Looks for a New Identity After Major Nerfs
The Warlock class enters Season 14 in a transitional state.
The once-dominant Apocalypse builds from Season 13 were heavily nerfed during PTR testing, removing their status as a top-tier option.
As a result, the current frontrunner has shifted toward Command Fallen Lunatic, which now serves as the most consistent and reliable build.
Other experimental setups—such as demon summon builds or Terror Swarm ultimates—show potential, but they currently lack the raw efficiency needed to compete at the highest levels.
For now, Warlock players looking to cheap D4 Items push endgame content will likely have to rely on Command Fallen Lunatic as their safest meta choice.
