RSVSR Tips for Warzone BO7 Season 2 Reloaded weapon buffs nerfs
Queue into a few matches after Season 2 Reloaded and you'll notice it fast: the "same two guns" vibe is gone, which is a relief whether you're sweating BR or just messing around in pubs, and if you're warming up with a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby you'll spot the difference even quicker because the new damage drop-offs and recoil quirks show up right away in repeat fights.
The M8A1 finally gets brought back to earth
The big headline is the M8A1 with the Autostrike-X8 conversion. Before, it was basically a full-auto cheat code: tight recoil, easy tracking, and a mid-range TTK that didn't feel fair. Now it's been trimmed where it mattered. The effective damage range got pulled in, and the torso and leg multipliers took a hit, so those "I barely aimed and you vanished" moments don't happen as often. You can still build it to feel smooth, but you'll have to work for the kill at range instead of letting the barrel do all the heavy lifting.
AR buffs that actually change your choices
A few rifles that were on the bench are suddenly worth a slot. The AK-27's minimum damage bump helps in those long, annoying lanes where you used to lose by one bullet. The MXR-17 and Peacekeeper MK1 also came out better, with small damage bumps and recoil that's easier to ride without white-knuckling your stick or mouse. Attachment tweaks matter too: extended mags reloading quicker is a quiet quality-of-life win, and grips doing a better job of calming kick means you can spec for mobility without feeling like your gun's trying to jump out of your hands.
FMJ is no longer the "why would I run this" pick
The FMJ change might be the sneakiest meta shift in the patch. People ignored it because it felt like a niche perk for wall tags, not real gunfights. Now it gives a 14% boost to damage range and bullet velocity, and it adds extra flinch to whoever you're shooting, which is huge when you're trying to beat an AR holding a heady. The best part is they didn't nerf its penetration damage to "pay" for the buffs, so it finally feels like a legit option instead of a meme attachment.
SMGs get a reshuffle, and your build habits need to change
Up close, the Carbon 57 and Dravec 45 got the kind of help that makes them scary again: better multipliers and a touch more usable range, so they don't instantly fall apart the moment the fight stretches past breathing distance. The Ryden 45K also feels snappier with faster ADS and a higher fire rate, which rewards aggressive timing and quick shoulder-peeks. On the flip side, the M15 Mod 0 and Strumwolf 45 were running a bit too hot, so their effective ranges and headshot multipliers got clipped; they're still strong, just not the automatic answer every time, and if you're tweaking loadouts while grabbing COD points or gear upgrades from RSVSR, it's a good moment to branch out and kit two or three different close-range options for different maps.
